Happy Valentine’s Day!

[Oops! Took me too long to post. Happy day-after-Valentine's-Day!]

Or “Singles Awareness Day”. However you choose to look at it.

Here’s my thing… I don’t get why Valentine’s Day has to just be a holiday for dating or married people. Why does it have to just be about couples? I mean, don’t get me wrong, obviously being a part of a couple gives you even more reason to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but it doesn’t have to be just for those people, either.

Think of it this way – Valentine’s Day is about love, right? And you can’t tell me that your significant other is the only person in the world you love. You’d be a pretty sad person if that was the case. So why not take a holiday that’s blown out of proportion by the greeting card, candy, jewelry, and flower companies anyway and use it to your own advantage? Who or what do you love? For me, that includes a lot! Heck, hopefully you love yourself at the very least. (And if not, you should!) Treat yourself on Valentine’s Day, if nothing else.

I think I actually have just chosen to get a kick out of holidays lately. And yeah, I know – with any holiday, it’s actually something you can celebrate every day, Valentine’s Day included. But honestly – a lot of times, it doesn’t seem like we really do that. Anyway… I think it started with Christmas last year. I just decided to get excited about it, and all of the things I love about Christmas. I had a party with lots of Christmas food, music, etc. I just went all out and totally crazy with all the things that are fun about the holiday. And I pretty much did the same with New Year’s. Why the heck not? It’s fun to get excited about stuff, and holidays are an easy thing to get excited about – if you choose to. So I guess I just stayed in the spirit with Valentine’s Day. Watch out, St. Patty’s Day is next…

One way I chose to celebrate Valentine’s Day (aka VD) this year was to appreciate some of my friends. There’s a few of them that are fellow LOST fanatics, and we get together every Thursday night to watch the new episodes. (Yay no more writer’s strike!) So since Valentine’s Day fell on our LOST night, I decided to put together some Valentine’s Day packages for them, including heart-shaped Dove chocolates and a special mix CD made just for the occasion. And since I also love my blog readers, I will share it with you as well. Click here to download (75MB), and enjoy!

I don’t download music (illegally), BUT I already have about half of the songs, and I’m adding a few to my to-purchase-on-iTunes list. Some were ones I didn’t think of and would’ve bought last time. So thanks for the ideas! :) Happy late Singles Awareness Day!

Like Sayid! :)

Someone on twitter pointed out that the acronym for Singles Awareness Day is S.A.D. and “what were they thinking?”, hehe.

That is an interesting mix you have there. You even have something by Eisley, which is very surprising.
